How much do these in-home services cost?
Make Me Up is solely based on donations which allows us to provide the client with a session full of beauty and no financial stress. The money received from donations is used to purchase product so that we may provide these services to women at no cost. If you are interested in donating, or have received services in the past and would like to have other women experience the same pampering, please check out our 'Donations' tab on the home page.
What if I'm not comfortable with someone coming to my home?
No worries. Thanks to Douglas J Aveda Institute Grand Rapids, they have so generously donated a salon chair for us to continue providing services to our clients. Make Me Up services can be provided at the downtown location on Mondays only. Please contact us today for your free consultation.
How do I sign up to receive services?
Fill out the form on the 'Contact' page. A response will be sent in a timely manner.
What information do I need to give you once I've scheduled an appointment?
All that is needed is a letter from your physician stating the type of cancer you have.
Why do you need a letter from my physician?
The letter is used as legal documentation to ensure that the donations being given are in fact going towards a specific cause.
Is there an initial consultation? How does it work?
When it comes to having a consultation, there will be two in-home visits from the stylist. The first visit will be a meet and greet with the client to discuss what services you may want, as well as the type of color you will want for your hair. You would also want to check with your doctor to ensure the color services won't interfere with any cancer treatment you may be undergoing. The second visit is the time that the services will be performed.
How many services can I receive in one visit?
You may receive up to 3 services in one session depending on the allotted time. The type of services being received will be discussed at the time of the consultation.
How often can I receive these services?
Some women may use this service only once to boost their energy. Others may find they want to continue every 8 weeks as needed.
Do I have to supply anything?
All that will need to be supplied is a chair for you to be comfortable in. Dining room chairs seem to work the best. All products and supplies will be provided by the stylist. It is recommended that if receiving color services, you have access to a shower to rinse the color.
How much time will it take?
Time will be dependent upon the service(s) being provided. This will be discussed at the initial consultation.
